JAMMU, Mar 28: A TEDx event of an international repute is being organized in Jammu on April 3.
This was announced today by chief organizer of the event and licensee of the ‘TEDx Rajender Park’ Shivani Vaid Sharma while addressing a press conference at Jammu.
Shivani informed that TED organization (USA) is an international platform dedicated to researching and sharing knowledge that matters, through short talks and presentations. “Its goal is to inform and educate global audiences in easy and well articulated way in the civil society across the world communities as mission mode community service through its meticulously selected network,” she added.
She said that ‘TEDx Rajender Park’ is one such body at Jammu, awarded recognition in 2019. She informed that that scientists, researchers, technologists, business leaders, artists, designers and experts in other fields take the TED stage to present ‘ideas worth spreading’, new knowledge and innovative research in their respective fields. She further shared that in the spirit of ideas worth disseminating; TED has created TEDx, an event operated under a license from TED.
“TEDx is a program of self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connections and the talks called TEDx Talk. TEDx event also provides platform to noted local speakers for sharing their ideas to inspire the upcoming generations. It is to educate, inform and entertain the members of the community,” she added.
Shivani said ‘TEDx Rajender Park–#breakthrough’, is one of its kind event in which eminent personalities of J&K with extraordinary achievements will be sharing their ideas, stories of struggle on the theme breakthrough, that how a moment can bring transformation in one’s entire outlook and life.
She disclosed that speaker for the event will be Param Vir Chakra recipient Captain Bana Singh, Mohita Sharma (IPS and winner of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ Season 12), Padma Shri awardee Javed Ahmed Tak, Darshan Darshi (convener, Dogri Advisory Board, Sahitya Academy, New Delhi), Kritika Khanna (first female Para Rower of India), Shshank Bhardwaj (civil servant) and Rohil Bhatia (musician).
