JAMMU, July 7: For the implementation of projects under National Program for Dairy Development (NPDD), Government today constituted a UT Level Technical Management Committee (UTLTMC).
Headed by the Administrative Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, J&K, the committee shall monitor UT Level projects under CSS-National Program for Dairy Development.
It shall ensure land availability for village level institutions like primary dairy societies, bulk milk cooling centres, cattle feed plants and the statutory requirements.
Further, the committee shall recommend all proposals of SHG-run private dairies/producer companies to the Government of India and ensure that there is no duplication of activities and projects. It shall coordinate with PIs (Participating Institutions) and National Dairy Development Board for policy support.
The committee shall meet regularly to review the progress of various schemes and apprise the Government of India. Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts covered under the scheme, Mission Director, Rural Livelihood Mission, J&K, representative of the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying , Government of India, Director Animal Husbandry Jammu/Kashmir, representatives of Finance Department, Planning Department, CEO Livestock Development Board, Jammu/Kashmir, CEO Jammu Kashmir Milk Producers Cooperative Ltd and representative of National Dairy Development Board are members of the UTLTMC.
