Teachers highlight demands

JAMMU, Jan 20: A delegation of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation and J&K Teacher Welfare Association met Deputy Chief Minister cum Education Minister Tata Chand and apprised him of various grievances of teaching community.
The problems of the teachers included selection grade to under graduate teachers, ending pay anomalies of Masters, problems pertaining to of MDM scheme, EVs and RETs, transparent transfer policy, supply of free books, proper use of Teachers Welfare Fund, incentive increments to PG teachers at par with other employees.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured the delegation for an early redressal of problems faced by the teachers. He committed that he will bring the service records of all the employees of the department online. He also committed the delegation that he will get the detail on line and sought the co-operation and support of teachers community for the upliftment of standard of education in the State.
The Minister was given the suggestion of creation of separate Directorates for primary, secondary and higher secondary level as the single Director faces difficulties in catering to the huge number of schools, children and employees for which the Minister gave a positive response.
Those in the delegation were Bram Rattam Sharma, Kuldeep Sharma, Ram Rattan, Ravi Kumar, Ram Pal Saini, Gulzar Hussain, Kuldeep Singh, Tara Chand, Raj Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, Chain Singh, Sudesh Gupta, Choudhary Mushtaq and Manzoor Ahmad.
