JAMMU, Jan 20: Rousing reception was given to Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Minister for Planning and Development, Labour and Employment at Jaswan, in Marh Block on his maiden visit to his area after induction in the Cabinet.
Addressing a largely attended public meeting at Jaswan, the Minister said the focus of developmental strategy is to enhance the standards of living of the people and to generate socio-economic opportunities to them.
Mr. Sadhotra expressed gratitude to the people for supporting the programmes and policies of Coalition Government which were aimed at the upliftment of the people as a whole across the State. He, however, cautioned the people to remain vigilant against the divisive and misleading tactics of vested interests who were hell bent to derail the process of development and progress undertaken under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Referring to the problems projected by the people, the Minister said all possible measures will be taken to redress these in a phased manner. He said he was aware of the problems like unemployment and upgrading infrastructural facilities in the area and assured that all these issues would be taken care of.
He asked the people of the area in general and the elected representative of Panchayats in particular to be part of the developmental effort set in motion by the Coalition Government.
“People were major stake-holders in the developmental plank”, he said while soliciting their cooperation in this effort.
Narinder Singh, Sarpanch of Jaswan Panchayat joined National Conference on the occasion.
