JAMMU, Feb 8: The Teachers Guild Jammu & Kashmir has offered cooperation and suggestions to the School Education authorities for adjustment of surplus Masters in Jammu district, who are awaiting adjustment.
In this connection, an urgent meeting of Teachers Guild was held here under the chairmanship of its State president Nasir Ahmed Qurashi. The members of the Central Core Committee, RTI Cell and Legal Cell of Teachers Guild were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, it was informed that there are 430-450 surplus Masters of Jammu district who are waiting for their adjustment orders. There are 10-12 Court cases, 22-25 Medical Cases and 19-23 Security Cases, on which the higher authorities are unable to take any immediate decision without medical and security reviews and final judgments of the High Court while the remaining surplus Masters are 380-390. There are 170 posts of Masters lying vacant in Jammu district on which those repatriated from other districts after completion of their tenure can be adjusted. Those Masters, whose seniority for Headmasters was approved by the authorities and published in the local newspapers in last year, if adjusted after DPC, then approximately 149 posts of Master fall vacant in Jammu province against which 45-50 posts of Masters shall be vacated in Jammu district on which Masters could be adjusted without any problem, the meet was explained.
Teachers Guild also suggested that out of 50-60 newly promoted Masters as Lecturers in Jammu district, if adjusted in Higher Secondary Schools of Jammu province then, near about 50-55 vacant posts can be made available for adjustment of more surplus Masters of Jammu district reducing the pressure on department.
