Teachers Forum highlights demands, grievances

UDHAMPUR, May 28: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, district Udhampur, was held here today under the chairmanship of Surinder Sharma,  district president JKTF Udhampur for  thread-bare discussion  on the present scenario of the education system.
The Forum  highlighted various issues and requested  the higher authorities to adjust all the leftover Masters who were promoted in  February  2014,  and also fill up all the vacant posts of Headmasters, ZEOs and Principals as early as possible due to which the institutions are suffering badly. The posts of ZEO Udhampur, ZEO Jib are  lying vacant for the last four months and routine work of these offices is suffering badly, the meet pointed out.
The participants said that salary of the surplus / deployed staff has not been released for the last three months due to non-availability of grants from higher authorities in time. So it is requested to issue the required grants in time so that  salary of the incumbents be released well in time, they added and  also demanded release of salary of the RETs and head teachers,  installments of 6th Pay Commission and DA arrear of Head Teachers working under SSA
Stating  that the Masters /Lecturers working in the hard zones i.e. Zone -III have completed their tenure of one year as per the Government  Policy and are now due for transfer to Zone-I, the Forum appealed the Education Minister to personally look into the  issue for ensuring transparency in  transfer of these Masters/Lectures from  Zone-III to Zone-I.
The Forum also requests to the Director School Education Jammu for early disposal of the cases from his office as a case of seniority fixation is pending for the last six years.
