JAMMU, Nov 17: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum was held, here today, under the chairmanship of State general secretary Ganesh Khajuria, for making November 21 programme of protest, a grand success.
The meet decided that all members of the Forum will reach near the Press Club on November 21 at 11 am sharp for taking out a protest rally in support of the long pending demands of the teaching community and seeking release of salary grants under SSA, RMSA and NPS schemes.
The Forum appealed the Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed for his personal intervention and direction to the concerned department to evolve solution of genuine demands of the teaching fraternity without any further delay.
Demands, highlighted in the meeting, included release of Mid-Day meal grants, repatriation of Masters to their home districts, who have completed their tenure in far flung areas, immediate regularization of ReTs, who have completed their five years of service, adjustment of promoted Lecturers and Masters, promotion of Masters as Head Masters, removal of pay anomalies of Master grade, exemption of teaching staff from performing additional duties like census etc.
Prominent among those, who attended the meeting, included Rajinder Gupta, Gopal Singh, Yog Raj Singh, Soorat Singh Toofani, Darshan Sharma, S Ravinder Singh, Raj Singh, Parmodh Sharma, Haqiqat Singh, Ghulam Hussain, S Rangil Singh, Raj Kumar Uppal, Susheel Sharma, Gurcharan Singh, Joginder Singh, Kailash Sharma, Gurdeep Slathia, Kuldeep Verma and others.
