JAMMU, July 7: The General Line Teachers Forum has alleged that ongoing Transfer Melas by the School Education Department were just an eye wash to befool the teaching community in Jammu province.
“What is the fun of these Melas as there is no disposal of the cases on the spot while the participants have been asked to submit application and then wait for decision of concerned authorities,” said Neeraj Sharma, president of General Line Teachers Forum, while addressing a press conference, here today.
He alleged that before announcement of the Transfer Melas, a number of blue eyed teachers were transferred and adjusted within the city by issuing individual orders for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities.
The Forum president also drew attention towards non-adjustment of the teachers, who were promoted as Masters in 2014 DPC but have not been adjusted even after lapse of two years. He also demanded timely release of NPS and other salary grants.
Expressing his reservations over transfer of regularized Rehbar-e-Taalim teachers and 5-year service benefits to them, Neeraj Sharma appealed the State Government to undo the `wrong’ decisions in School Education Department, taken by the previous NC-Congress regime. “Government order number 469 of 2014 favouring 5-year service and transfer for ReTs was a misadventure by the previous Government and was illogical, uncalled and detrimental for general line teachers, recruited through SSB,” he said and added that screening test of all ReTs should be held.
During the press conference, Neeraj Sharma was accompanied by other forum leaders, including Daleep Kumar Digra, Parshotam Singh, Digvijay Singh, Sonu Sharma, Vivek Gupta, Rajinder Atri, Tejinder Singh, Amit Dabgotra, Naresh Manhas, Kiran Pandita and Sukhdev Singh.
