JAMMU, July 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Welfare Association (JKTWA) in a meeting today criticized the Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather for undue delay in disbursement of salary to the teachers of Jammu division, here.
Addressing the meeting, JKTWA president Jasmeet Singh Madaan alleged that the salary grant for the previous month has been released to the respective Principals, Headmasters and Zonal Education Officers on July 10 and the bill has been passed by the respective Treasuries, however the MT to the respective treasuries has not been released since July 3, 2012.
He further said that from the last six to seven months teachers have been the worst sufferers for the inordinate delay in disbursement of salaries, adding that the teacher community which is solely dependent on pay has been left in the lurch in the days of sky rocketing price rise.
Meanwhile, the other important issues raised during the meeting included early release of DPC lists of masters and laboratory assistants, regularization of Water Women’s working since last 15 years and joining of newly appointed teachers during the Summer Vacations.
The meeting threatened to take the agitational route if their was no immediate redressal to their problems.
Those who attended the meeting included Munish Pandoh, Raman Kohli, Sanjeev Sharma, Deepak Bali, Imtiyaz, Pardeep Gupta, Irfan Ahmed and Ijit Singh.
