JAMMU, Aug 12: Continuing its drive against sale of illicit liquor, Khour police nabbed three persons including a tea stall owner.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Khour police station conducted raid at a tea stall.
During checking, police recovered 40 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the tea stall owner, who has been identified as Jiya Lal, son of Gitan Ram of Pallanwala.
Jiya Lal use to sale the liquor illegally among the people from 5 am to 8 am after purchasing the same from the nearby wine shop, which was also found open at 6 am in the morning, when police conducted raid at tea stall.
Two salesmen of the wine shop identified as Ravishan Singh, son of Gitan Singh and Jagdev Singh, son of Deepak Singh, both residents of Pallwanwala were also arrested.
The matter was also reported to Excise Department for action against the wine shop owner for indulging in illegal practices by opening the shop beyond the allocated time schedule.
A case under FIR Number 55/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against the trio at police station Khour and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Khour police station SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
