JAMMU, Aug 12: Walmart India, the wholly-owned subsidiary of world’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart Stores Inc, today announced the opening of its 21st Cash and Carry store in the country.
It is the second Best Price Modern wholesale store in Agra and the fourth in the State of Uttar Pradesh.
The new store simultaneously got integrated with the e-commerce platform, making it the 21st Best Price store to go online.
Announcing the Store launch, Krish Iyer, President and CEO, Walmart India said, “Setting up a second store in Agra and fourth one in the State of Uttar Pradesh reinforces our belief in the ease of doing business here in UP under the leadership of State Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Our Best Price store will also help our kirana members and other business members to efficiently manage their inventory and lower their operational costs, thereby helping people save money so they can live better”.
“While growing the business, we will continue to invest in the supply chain infrastructure and supplier development, focusing on the growth of small and medium manufacturers, helping grow our farmer suppliers, setting new benchmarks in the cash and carry business and creating thousands of local jobs”, he added.
He informed that “Through our Cash and Carry venture, our aim is to establish an efficient supply chain linking farmers and small manufacturers”.
