DIC organises enrollment  camp for industrial workers

UDHAMPUR, Aug 12:  District Industries Center, Udhampur, as part of drive launched in district  for 100% enrollment of eligible beneficiaries under social security schemes initiated by the Prime Minister, today organised enrolment of industrial workers for coverage under three schemes.
District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary was chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the enrolment camp for eligible individuals especially laborers of various industries at Industrial Estate, Battal Ballian Udhampur, under three major Social Security Schemes viz Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bhima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Suraksha Yojana .
As many as   102  workers were registered under the schemes on the spot including 31 APY, 13 PMJSBY and 4 PMJJBY on spot . About 15 bank accounts have been opened under PMJDY.
On the occasion, DDC interacted with the workers of the industries and stressed upon them to come forward and avail benefits from these schemes by joining and enrolling with the any of the bank for future security.
He appreciated the efforts of GM DIC Neelam Khajuria for organizing enrolment drive at Battal Ballian and for actively participating in the drive. He added  that due to lack awareness and orientation for these 3 schemes, the enrollment did not pick up well. He appealed people of the district and workers of the industrial estate to enroll in maximum number with these social security schemes and take maximum benefits from these Govt schemes and also stressed upon them to spread the message to other people in their neighborhood about their joining with these schemes.
He informed the people that those who will join APY scheme upto Dec 31, 2015 ,Government will also contribute 50 percent amount in their bank accounts for a period  of five years.
Among others, GM DIC Neelam Khajuria, Cluster Head J&K Bank, Iqbal Singh, MD Dhanuka Agri Group, staff of the DIC and J&K Bank and a large number of workers attended the drive.
