Srinagar, Apr 29:  The Communist Party of India (CPI)-M today criticized State Government for fresh hike in power tariff and termed it unjustified. The party demanded its immediate withdrawal as it would add to sufferings of people.
State secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said that the fresh hike in power tariff is directly going to hit lakhs of consumers in the State who have witnessed an unprecedented hike in power tariff in past few years.
Referring to some reports, Tarigami termed these as  unfortunate saying that the consumers in metered as well as non-metered areas have experienced sky touching hikes in power tariff since 2006 to 2007.
Tarigami asked the Government to take ground realities into the consideration and rescind this anti people decision.
