The pride moment in the life of any soldier lies in the opportunity to make sacrifice for the country in the event of war and any other emergent situation. Sacrifice is voluntary response and not the imposed compulsion. Army manual or any Rule Book does not entail mutilation and killing of the enemy in the most barbaric and inhuman way after capturing the soldiers through ambush. The act of beheading Lance Naik Hemraj of Mathura in the Mendhar sector of Jammu province is distintly premeditated, highly provocative and smacks of beastly instinct of Pak psyche. It is reflective of deep rooted cowardice and crookedness.
The moot point in the whole episode is that why Pakistan dares indulging into such highly provocative acts against the mighty nation who always brought her to knees in all her previous misdaventures ? We need to do some self-introspection, change ourselves and act decisively. Our lackadaisical approach had already allowed the serpent in the grass to grow into huge Dragon. Enough is enough. We shall have to respond in the language Pak understands. Bit of tough talking by the Army Chief has the definite impact of chilling their spine and changing their tone and tenor.
