Urban youth uprising

Sir,
The protests that rocked the capital of India-Delhi and other states during Anna Hazare led agitation and the shocking gang rape incidents protests had one similar thing in common.
In all these agitations the participants were predominantly youth; belonged to middle class; limited to huge populated urban areas with a 24×7 media coverage. Does this mean that corruption or crime against women is only an urban problem and not a rural one ? No, we understand that these problems are global. Then why are we observing this particular trend ? The young urban middle class has suddenly become confident, energetic, assertive, social media savvy and ready to take on the establishment. They appear to be impatient. So, the bottom line is that this is Young Urban “India” Uprising. In the same vein, the same youth have full faith in our strong democratic values and institutions as was evident from a high urban voter percentage in recently concluded assembly elections in two states. We are in need of many young, dynamic leaders with a foresight to represent and lead this New India. Every dark cloud has a silver lining.
Yours etc….
