JAMMU, Dec 2: J&K Judicial Academy today started the ‘Induction Training Programme’ for newly appointed Munsiffs (Civil Judges Junior Division).
Justice Gita Mittal, Chief Justice J&K High Court (Chief Patron, J&K Judicial Academy) inaugurated the training course and addressed the newly selected Munsiffs(Civil Judges Junior Division).
Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Sindhu Sharma- Judges of High Court of J&K addressed the newly selected Munsiffs(Civil Judges Junior Division).
Registrar General and other Judicial Officers in the High Court Registry also attended the function.
Justice Gita Mittal welcomed the newly appointed Munsiffs to the Judicial family and exhorted that being a Judge is not merely a job but is a service to the nation, more particularly to the common masses seeking redressal against the deprivation of their rights.
The Chief Justice also added that one of the good qualities of a Judge is the quickness with which he or she disposes of the cases with fairness and utmost sense of justice.
“A Judge must have the best of sincerity, fairness, and that he/she must be dead honest not just to the case but also to himself/ herself,” she said and advised the officers to take care of ecological concerns of the nation and to be proactive in ensuring hygiene of the workplace and of surroundings.
Justice Rajesh Bindal told the trainee Munsiffs that they are Judges for all twenty four hours, and they must have utmost sense of fairness and integrity, and they shall make efforts to live up to the Constitutional goal of justice to marginalised and deprived sections of the society.
Justice Sindhu Sharma maintained that a judge is supposed to perform the Godly function of judging. “Whereas God judges in the afterlife, a judge has to do justice in the lifetime of a litigant” she said and added that there was no alternative for a Judge to fairness and fearlessness.
Rajeev Gupta, Director, J&K State Judicial Academy thanked the Chief Justice and Justice Rajesh Bindal for their valuable inputs and fruitful interaction with the trainee Judicial Officers. He assured them that Academy shall make all endeavour to get best out of the trainee Judicial Officers by providing them skills and knowledge on every sphere of judicial dispensation.
