JAMMU, Nov 5: In the much publicized Dr Rubiya Sayeed kidnapping and Indian Air Force personnel killing case, Presiding Officer of TADA Court Subash C Gupta today adjourned the case as Showkat Bakshi was not produced.
When the matter came-up for appearing, Yasin Malik was produced by the Tihar Jail authorities through video conference. However, Mushtaq Ahmed was not present as such non-bailable arrest warrants were issued.
“He shall be produced on next date of hearing positively failing which appropriate proceedings under law will be initiated against him by forfeiting of his bail bond”, the court said, adding “a copy of the communication is received from the Senior Superintendent Jail Ambedkar Nagar, UP with a request to Superintendent of Police ACB, Jammu that accused Showkat Ahmed Bakshi is not being produced for want of video conference facility as such security arrangement for transportation and production of accused before the court is required”.
Accordingly, court directed the CBI to make necessary arrangement for production of the accused-Showkat Ahmed Bakshi through video conference or otherwise as requested by the Jail Superintendent.
