JAMMU, Aug 11: A symposium on ‘breast feeding’ was organized today in ASCOMS Auditorium to celebrate World Breast Feeding Week.
The symposium was organized by Department of Paediatrics under supervision of Dr Ravinder K Gupta, Prof and Head, and was attended by faculty members, resident doctors, post graduates and undergraduate MBBS students of ASCOMS Hospital, besides nursing students.
Final year MBBS students, Vasundhra Dhar, Obaid Bin Rashid, Sukhman Kour, Shreya Bhat, Davinder Pal Singh and pre-final year students, Shaheen Parray and Shaishte Mahajan deliberated on various aspects of ‘breast feeding’.
Dr Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, ASCOMS & Hospital, was the chief guest on this occasion. He emphasized the role of such symposia and ongoing clinical interactions in imparting quality medical education. He also spoke on importance of breast feeding for better out care of children. Later, he gave certificates to the speakers.
Dr Harkirat Kour, senior resident, conducted the proceedings of the symposium.
