SVO seizes CEO Jammu record

JAMMU, Oct 18: Acting on some complaints of alleged irregularities in selection for the posts of Class-IV employees in Education Department,  the Vigilance Organization today raided the office of Chief Education Officer Jammu and seized the relevant record.
The Vigilance team, led by Dy SP V K Bhat under the supervision of SSP Vigilance Jammu, Rupinder Chalotra, conducted the raid, which lasted for more than six hours. Record of the selection process in connection with Class-IV recruitment,  was  seized by the Vigilance team for scrutiny.
As per the complaints, some aspirants had alleged that their names were not considered against their categories but shown in open merit in the selection list, due to which they could not be selected for the said posts. There was also allegation that points of VIVA  were deliberately kept 40 instead of 20 in violation of rules and regulations to confer undue benefit to the favourite candidates.
On the basis of complaint received, a joint surprise check was conducted by Vigilance Organization in the office of CEO Jammu in association with officers of Education Department, said an official handout issued by the Vigilance Organization adding that the relevant record pertaining to the selection process was obtained for scrutiny to verify the veracity of allegations.
Pertinent to mention here that National Conference provincial president Devender Singh Rana had also alleged irregularities in recent selection for Class-IV employees in Education Department and demanded a probe in this connection by a sitting Judge of the State High Court.
