Surrendered militant turned SPO dies mysteriously

RAJOURI, Dec 3: A surrendered militant turned SPO died under mysterious circumstances at their official quarter in District Police Lines here last night.
The deceased has been identified as Mohd Zamir, son of Abdul Aziz, resident of Margan village in Darhal. He had joined militancy ending nineties and had surrendered before the security forces during 2001. His wife is also SPO and the family was residing in a quarter in DPL complex at Rajouri. While Zamir was posted in Darhal area, his wife was in DPL Rajouri. He died in his official quarter last night.
Family member and relatives of Zamir later kept the body at Darhal Morh on the road near Rajouri and started protest. They alleged that Zamir has been done to death and it seems to be a murder. They blocked roads for about  two hours. Then ASP  Rajouri and SHO reached there and they  agreed to send the body for postmortem. A medical board conducted the postmortem of the body. The police has started inquest proceedings into the case. Later, the dead body of the SPO was taken to his home village in Darhal.
