SRINAGAR, Dec 8: To check the punctuality of staff in the departments, the top officials of University of Kashmir during surprise checks found 90 per cent of its staff absent in the Administrative Block’s Purchasing Section much before the office leaving timing.
Sources said that after receiving frequent complaints about the late arrival and early departure of some employees, both teaching and non-teaching staff in some departments, the top officials at KU started surprise checks in the department to corner erring staff.
From last Monday the top officials, which included Professor Talat Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, Professor Zafar Reshi, Registrar and Prof A M Shah, Head Dean Academics Affairs made surprise visits to many departments and found dozens of its staff members absent from their duty.
