Suri demands widening of Mahamaya Temple road

JAMMU, Dec 15: J&K Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Executive Member, Raman Suri today said that the road to Mahamaya Temple, where Cable Car project is also awaiting tourists’ influx, is in dilapidated condition and needs immediate widening and black-topping.
In a handout he said, the temple is visited by a number of devotees who get pained to see the condition of the road right from the highway upto the temple.
Suri said that he visited the temple today along with members of Tourism Federation to pay obeisance and en-route they witnessed the deteriorated condition of the road.
He talked to the temple authorities, devotees and the vendors there regarding development of the area and the temple.
Suri urged the Government to widen the road and also make it driving worthy so that pilgrims and locals of the area besides those desirous of taking Cable Car rides could reach their destinations comfortably.
He also said that the area needs to be developed on priority basis with all facilities like parking, two lane road, shops, restaurants, public toilets etc.
