JAMMU, May 18: Shri Durga Dass Memorial (SDDM) Hospital and Research Centre, a comprehensive multidisciplinary Super-Specialty Hospital started its much awaited services for the people of J&K today in Channi Himmat.
The hospital has offered a much needed relief to the people of State as it will provide comprehensive multidisciplinary super-specialty health care services.
This was stated by Er Anil Sharma, Managing Director, SDDM Hospital and Research Centre while interacting with media persons during the operational ceremony here this evening.
The hospital is fully air-conditioned and first of its kind in the State, which is equipped to provide multidisciplinary services like Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Gastro Surgery besides Clinical Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, general surgery, Eye headed by Dr Ashok Sharma, ENT and Orthopaedics, Mr Sharma stated.
He further informed that the hospital is equipped with hi-tech ICU, high dependency unit and neonatal-ICU units, adding that the modular operational theatres are supported with 24 hours emergency services and fully automated diagnostic lab along with radiology unit with latest state-of-art equipment.
“A team of best leading doctors will provide their services. Critical Care Unit (CCU) at SDDM Hospital has 10 beds which include 1 bed for isolation cases. Patients with cardiac, medical, surgical, orthopaedics, pediatric and neurological disorders needing intensive care are admitted in this unit. ICU is equipped with latest state-of-art invasive and non-invasive ventilators and monitors. The department of critical care has expertise in the management of impending organ system failure, high risk emergency patients and emergencies like acute pancreatitis, trauma, heart diseases and shock requiring ICU care. ICU is headed by critical care specialist and backed up by qualified intentivist and paramedical staff 27×7”, Anil Sharma informed.
He added that the pediatric and new born care services at the hospital are equipped with newborn ICU, open care warmer and monitor for sick newborn babies. Facilities for phototherapy and exchange transfusion for treatment and jaundice in new born are also available. The hospital will also provide 24×7 ambulance service for safe transportation for sick patients from any place in region of Jammu. State of art-facilities available in NICU includes high frequency ventilation, LED phototherapy equipment and blood gas analyzer, Mr Sharma informed.
“Our goal is to provide outstanding patient experience and personal human touch in the hands of best super-specialty. Specialist doctors will be available round the clock. Another objective of creating this facility is to provide treatment with affordable cost to the general public, so that inconvenience and heavy cost of treatment outside J&K may be avoided”, he maintained.
