JAMMU, July 27: Minister for Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sukhnandan Kumar today inaugurated Water Supply Scheme Trilokpur constructed under NRDWP at a cost of Rs. 2.11 crore in Marh constituency.
With a capacity of supplying 50,000 gallons water per day, the scheme will benefit 2664 souls, 300 floating population and 3850 designed population of Trilokpur, Om Vihar, Rakwala Badar, Swarn Colony and TPC colony of Marh constituency.
Senior officers of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Sarpanchs, Panchs and a large number of local people were present on the occasion.
While interacting with the people, the Minister took stock of problems being faced by them and directed the concerned authorities to redress these issues on priority.
Referring to measures being taken up to give fillip to developmental initiatives, the Minister said that the Government is working hard to ensure inclusive development of all the three regions with focus on remote and far-flung areas. He said while thrust is being laid on ensuring infrastructural development in key sectors like roads and building, health, education, power and drinking water sectors, the coalition Government is also prioritizing employment generation schemes.
Sukhnandan sought support of people in effectively implementing developmental agenda and assured that all necessary measures are being taken to meet developmental requirements of border areas.
