JAMMU, Jan 13: Former Minister and MLA Marh, Ch Sukhnandan distributed relief cheques amounting to Rs 152 lakh among the people who were affected during the recent cross border firing in the Marh Constituency and have faced a huge loss of property and cattle as well.
A programme was organized in this regard at Gajansoo today in which besides the firing victims the BJP activists, officers and officials of Revenue Department also participated.
In his address Sukhnandan said that PDP-BJP Government is committed to mitigate the sufferings of the people and the remaining firing victims will also be provided relief and compensation in other affected villages of his Constituency very soon as the process has been started in this regard.
He reiterated the commitment of the coalition Government to work for the welfare of the people of the State in general and border areas in particular who often become victims of cease fire violation by Pakistan.
SDM Marh Ved Raj, tehsildar Marh Babu Ram, S Harjeet Singh and a large number of people of the adjoining villages attended the function.
