Students protest over shortage of teachers in school

UDHAMPUR, Apr 16: Up in arms against shortage of teachers and no drinking water, the students of Government Middle School Chai of Zone Panchari and local villagers of adjoining area held a protest demonstration, here today.
The protestors raised slogans against the Education authorities and lamented that there were only two teachers, including Headmaster, in the Middle School. They also complained about no drinking water and washroom facility in the school, where the students’ strength is 80.
Despite repeated pleas to the School Education Department, no action was taken to depute the adequate number of teachers and provide drinking water as well as washroom facility, the protesters said, who were led by Lehar Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Raj Singh, Sandoor Singh and Hans Raj.
They further informed that the new school building was constructed in 2013-14 but the same was not handed over to the School Education Department till date. The villagers urged Governor Satya Pal Malik to get the matter enquired and save future of the students.
