KISHTWAR, June 5: The students of Government High School Upper Bhandara Kuntwara staged protest against shortage of teaching staff, today.
Amid slogans in favour of demands, a large number of students assembled at Kandni market and blocked Batote-Doda-Kishtwar Highway.
“Hundreds of students are pursing their education in this institution and only 3 teachers are available for us. Three posts of teachers are lying vacant”, said a protesting student.
The protesting students said due to shortage of teachers their precious time is being wasted. They said whenever they met the authorities of the Education Department they assured them of doing the needful but they do nothing.
However, the students have appealed the concerned authorities to intervene in the matter, so that their studies don’t get affected.
Later, officials of Education Department reached the spot and made arrangements of 2 more teachers at GHS Upper Bhandara Kuntwara.
After getting their demand fulfilled, the students called off their protest and resumed their classes.
