DODA, June 24: The students today held a protest against lack of transportation to and fro their schools and colleges.
A large number of students of Government Higher Secondary School Malnaoo assembled at Tehsil headquarters Kahara and held a protest stating that there is shortage of transportation facility in their area and whatever public transport vehicles are available, they avoid carrying the students.

“Due to this attitude of the handlers of the public transport facility, we get late to our school every day due to which we have to be victim of the anger of our teachers,” the students said.
Raising slogans against the transport department and district administration, the protesting students blocked Gandoh-Doda-Thathri road and disrupted vehicular traffic. They demanded the district administration to ensure regular and timely transportation facilities for the students.
After getting information of protest, Tehsildar Kahara Dr Subuh Shad reached the spot and assured the protesting students that their issues will be resolved at the earliest.
On the assurance of the Tehsildar, the students dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on the road.
