UDHAMPUR, Sept 16: Local villagers and students of Government High School Deot (Khoon) in tehsil Majalta of Udhampur district today protested against shortage of teaching staff and infrastructure in the school.
The protesting villagers and students raised slogans against the School Education Department and blocked Khoon – Udhampur road for more than two hours. They said that there were only two teachers in the high school which has a strength of about 90 students.
Besides the teaching staff, the protesting students were also demanding clean bathrooms, drinking water and infrastructure in the school.
The protest was organized under the leadership of Manoj Verma, Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Deot.
