Students demand new counselling session

SRINAGAR, Nov 18: Kashmiri students who have missed the counselling session of Government College of Engineering and Technology Jammu for provisional admission for B.E Lateral Entry Scheme today demanded a new counselling session for them.
The students said that they missed the session due to internet shutdown and prevailing uncertainty in the Valley. “I used to check Valley based newspapers everyday but could not find anything. I had no information regarding this as internet services were down here,” Asif Yousuf, a student said, adding that the Government should conduct a new counselling session as various private colleges are yet to fill the vacant seats.
Another student, Nayeem Rasool, told Excelsior that the Government should save their year and conduct a separate counseling. “We request Government to look into the matter,” he said, adding that several seats are vacant in different private colleges of Jammu.
