JAMMU, May 17: The students can appear in the Lovely Professional University’s (LPU’s) entrance test “LPU NEST’ for admissions to various programmes from their home.
LPUNEST is being organized as ‘Remotely Proctored Online Examination’ this year. This unique initiative will help students to appear for the exam without any fear. Also, to ensure that candidates appearing for the test may not use any of the wrong means during the test, a very strong Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool is to be used.
The test will be conducted under constant observation via artificial intelligence tools and live monitoring by the remotely supervising proctors. Any suspected activity will lead to the immediate termination of the exam.
The AI tools will be able to detect any movement of face or eyeballs and highlight the same automatically. The constant vigilance of proctor through the live feed is also enabled to deter any suspicious activity of the candidate.
Aspiring students would need a reliable laptop/computer to appear for the test with basic configurations like Core 2 Duo with minimum 1 GB RAM and Windows 7 or above operating system. The remote proctoring module also requires proper internet connection of minimum 1 Mbps; working web camera; and, mike available/attached with Laptop/desktop.
Appearing students should also ensure proper lighting in the room so that the pictures captured during the exam are not blurred. Before the commencement of the exam, LPU Counsellor will make calls to students to make them accustomed to the process to appear in the test. Students will receive login information prior to the exam. For detailed information, regarding exam procedure, infrastructure requirements and things to observe during the exam, students are required to refer to the instruction manual in the email they receive before the exam.
This year, LPU has also announced Rs 20 crores COVID 19 scholarship for the wards of COVID-19 frontline warriors. LPUNEST is mandatory for the admission to B Tech and PG Agriculture programmes of the university. For other programmes marks in the qualifying exam will only be considered, and students need not appear for the LPUNEST exam.  Students can also avail scholarship based on marks in 12th class or, in case students do not have 12th score then based on 10th Score. A student may appear for the LPUNEST exam to improve upon the scholarship later on.
