UDHAMPUR, July 3: Students of Higher Secondary School Kiya (Winter Zone) in tehsil Ramnagar today protested against shortage of teachers in the school.
The protesting students, including girls, boycotted their classes and blocked Ramnagar-Basantgarh road, where a demonstration cum dharna was staged amidst raising of slogans against the School Education authorities.
They also criticized the district administration for its inaction over the issues like shortage of teachers in the remote area schools across Udhampur. They alleged that despite repeatedly bringing the matter into the notice of concerned authorities, no action was taken with the result that their studies were badly suffering.
The road remained blocked for more than hour by the protesting students, who threatened to gherao the authorities of School Education Department and the district administration if adequate number of teachers are not posted in their school.
