Students awarded during ‘100 cr vaccination prog’

JAMMU, Dec 11: As a part of ongoing Nationwide campaign on ‘100 crore Vaccinations of Covid-19’ a two day along awareness campaign was started today by Field Outreach Bureau, Kathua under the aegis of Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of information & Broadcasting, Government of India at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Nagri-Parole of district Kathua.
On the first day, drawing competition and fogging sanitization was organized at the school, whit was inaugurated by P.L.Thappa, Chief Education Officer Kathua & presided over by Jitendra Sethi, Principal, GHSS Parole and officials of ROB Jammu and FOB Kathua.
The main aim of organizing various activities was to involve common masses in the celebrations of achieving the target of 100 Crores Vaccinations and also involve them in spreading awareness to the grass root level regarding getting vaccinated and observing COVID Appropriate Behavior.
In his addres, P.L. Thappa, CEO, Kathua said that organizing such awareness and interactive activities in border villages is the need of the hour. He urged the students and staff to take utmost care of themselves and motivate each other in following COVID Appropriate Behaviour.
Jatinder Sethi, Principal GHSS Nagri Parole and Ravinder Sharma, Lecturer in Education also addressed the audience. They both appreciated the efforts of ROB Jammu and advised the students to take care of personal hygiene and cleanliness of the surroundings. They reminded them for washing their hands, wearing masks, maintaining proper distance and getting vaccinated.
Speaking on this Occasion, Vijay Mattoo Incharge Field Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Kathua gave a brief introduction of the working and organization of the department and also highlighted the importance of cleanliness, Covid Appropriate Behaviour for healthy living. He urged the students to tell their elders that getting vaccinated will not only save their own life but also ensure the safety of others because ‘Nobody is safe unless everybody is safe.’
Competitors were awarded in two categories in drawing competition viz 9th to 12th standard and below 9th standard by FOB Kathua. In the Youth category Munish Kattru (12th) of GHSS Nagri-Parole school stood first, Nirjalla (10th) of GHS Nagri stood second where as Siya Devi (10th) GHS Khokhyal bagged third position. In children category, 1st Prize was won by Neeraj Kumar (8th) GMS Outer Taraf Pain while as Bhushan Kumar (8th) GMS, Nagri-Parole & Sonakshi Devi (8th GMS Goond Bagged 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
