JAMMU, July 3: High Court today issued directions for strict adhere to the guidelines for allotment and sale of helicopter tickets for Annual Amarnathji pilgrimage and sought compliance report on the next date of hearing.
The directions were issued in a petition filed by Master Tour and Travels submitting that in order to curb the menace of black marketing and provide adequate facilities to the pilgrims, the respondents fixed rates for helicopter service during Amarnathji Yatra.
It was further submitted that Shri Amarnath Shrine Board after receiving enormous complaints, constituted a committee and framed guidelines including 10(C) for the quota of helicopter tickets to the travel agencies. The respondents furnished the list in response to the application of the petitioner under RTI wherein it shows same members figuring in multiple associations which violates guidelines 10(C).
After hearing Advocate Sachin Gupta appearing for the petitioner, Justice Sanjeev Kumar issued notice to State through Commissioner Secretary Tourism Department, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board through its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board with the direction to strictly adhere to the guidelines for allotment and sale of helicopter tickets.
They were further directed to file compliance report on the next date of hearing.
