JAMMU, July 3: All J&K Petroleum Dealers Association held executive body meeting under the chairmanship of its President Anan Sharma.
In the meeting, serious concern was expressed regarding losses suffered by the petroleum dealers on account of day to day changes in the prices of the petroleum products.
“Though the issue was raised with the concern companies earlier to bear the loss if any suffered by the dealers due to the daily change in the prices but unfortunately the companies did not paid any heed to the burning issue as a result of which the dealers are suffering losses randomly”, said Anan Sharma.
He said that the time of change of prices is also not suitable, dealers are drawn unnecessarily into trifles over prices with customers leading to their harassment besides suffering losses, adding that Federation of AIPDA had put before Government through OMCS the demand of 5 per cent commission in favour of dealers and implementation of MDG in letter and spirit is yet to be accepted by the Government and companies. There are so many other problems, which the dealers have kept to their hear keeping in view the callous attitude of the authorities, he added.
Sharma informed that AIPDA has given token strike call “No Purchase” on July 5 and “No Purchase No Sale” from July 12 in support of their demands.
J&K Petroleum Dealers Association has also decided to support the strike call by not purchasing any petroleum products on July 5 and there will be “No Purchase and No Sale” of petroleum products from July 12, Sharma said, adding that the strike will be observed country wide including Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharing the inconvenience caused to the public in general and commuters in particular, Sharma stressed upon the Government and concerned companies for immediate resolution of problems to avoid unnecessary harassment to the dealers as well as public.
