Strengthen security grid: DIG

Srinagar, Aug 1: The Deputy Inspector General of Police North Kashmir Range Sujit Kumar today chaired an officers’ meeting and reviewed the security scenario at DPL Baramulla.
DIG NKR chaired the security review meeting with senior Police/CAPF and Army officers to assess the law & order situation and discussed different security measures for ensuring peace and stability in the district.
He also directed the officers to strengthen the security grid and plug the gaps with tight security measures to counter those involved in terrorist and criminal activities.
“The stringent action must be taken against the elements found involved in unlawful activities for maintaining a peaceful environment,” he said.
He also hailed the role of Baramulla Police in combating the drug menace in the district and appreciated the hard work of all officers in maintaining peace.
The DIG also exhorted upon the officers to remain cautious and alert to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in the district as the anti-national elements are trying to disturb the peace and stability in the area.
He directed the officers to ensure better synergy among the forces to thwart any nefarious designs of the enemies of the nation.
