After many years the people of Jammu got pre-mix laid good roads, but this goodness will not last long as the road digging and cable laying parties are again on their job. This happens every year. Now they have adopted new way to cause more harm to the roads as drains and foot paths are being dug to lay cables. The loose filled foot paths are kept unattended for years and instead of tiles loose pre-mix material is just pasted on them, thereby making them uneven and harmful to walk. The drains loose their original level leading to get them blocked with slightest rain.
We see that the information technology is advancing day by day and there is need to lay cables, but we should apply our mind to find once for all solution to this problem. Instead of digging roads again and again and spending crores of rupees every year, we should work for permanent way out of the problem. That is possible if we once dug deep pacca drain alongside every road or we lay down a wide radius cemented pipe inside the road corner. If this is done once, it will solve problem for ever as cables can be inserted in these pipes or drains without any harm to the road on yearly basis and one time expenditure will solve the day to day periodic expenses. The Govt of India should try this suggestion.
