SRINAGAR, Oct 7: Minister for CA&PD, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today informed the Lower House that his department was providing ration to the consumers on regular basis.
Replying to a calling attention notice by Sat Pal Sharma, the Minister said because of various reasons including restrictions on traffic movement within Jammu Municipal area, slow pace of grinding of wheat into whole meal atta by roller flour mills, delayed release of funds and non-availability of transport facility, the ration supply gets sometimes disrupted.
The Minister said that his department is aiming to further streamline supply of rations and several steps are being taken in this regard.
The Minister said that under TDPS programme, his department has initiated a district wise lifting of food grains from FCI godowns, dispatching of rice to the main CA&PD stores and issuing of food grains to the sale outlets for further distribution.
