JAMMU, Mar 3: To carry out the various activities in the State under the national flagship scheme of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), the State Health Society (SHS) received second trenche of funds to the tune of Rs 36.47 crores on March 1 from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The funds were transferred on the same day to the bank accounts of the District Health Societies through e-transfer for running various schemes of NRHM including Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK), Janani Suraksha Yojna (JSY), Accredited Social Health Activist component (ASHA), Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH) and salary/ incentive of the NRHM staff.
As per the sources, funds to the tune of Rs. 1168.77 lakh for Mission Flexipool and Rs 1954.00 lakh have been released to District Health Societies.
When contacted, Dr Yashpal Sharma, Mission Director, NRHM informed that funds were released same day to the Chief Medical Officers who have been asked to ensure that the core activities like JSSK, JSY, ASHA and salaries/ incentives to the health care functionaries are carried out in the field and the funds are used judiciously.
He further directed that physical and financial reports be submitted to State Health Society.
