BANIHAL, July 14: National Conference (NC) district Ramban president, Sajjad Shaheen here today said that people have realised that a stable Government can address their problems effectively and single-mindedly.
Addressing a rally to welcome Congress and BJP workers who joined NC, Shaheen called upon new entrants to be agents of change.
He further said that State is going through very difficult time where on one hand youth are being pushed towards the wall and on the other hand, a conspiracy is being hatched to vitiate communal harmony.
Shaheen also said that NC has proven its credentials in most testing times of the history and further added that a strong mandate to NC is imperative for taking bold decisions with regard to development and safeguarding the special status and interests of the State and its people.
The NC leader said that decisive battle is needed to be fought against divisive forces, who have taken central stage by exploiting regional and religious sentiments to further their ‘myopic and nefarious’ political agenda.
Shaheen asked the people to strengthen the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah for steering the State to a new era of peace, progress and development.
