DODA, Mar 26: Continuing its efforts to extend help and assistance to downtrodden sections under Civic Action Programme, SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom alongwith SDPO Gandoh Shahzada Kabir Matoo and SHO Gandoh Inspector Vikram Singh paid a visit to Chilly Gandoh and distributed study material.
The study material including school bags, notebooks and other items were distributed among school children studying in various Government Schools of far flung areas and belonging to poor and downtrodden families.
The programme was organized at Government Higher Secondary School Chilly Gandoh where study material was distributed to the children of poor category studying in Government Schools located in far flung areas viz Kota-Kharangal, Manoo, Sawara, Hadal, Malath Batholi etc..
Later, SSP Doda held a public meeting which was attended by prominent citizens, elderly people, PRIs functionaries among a huge gathering of locals. The participants highlighted various issues and demands to which SSP Doda assured them that their demands will be taken up at appropriate level for redressal of the same.
SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom while speaking on the occasion urged upon the participants to maintain brotherhood, peace and communal harmony to build a peaceful atmosphere. The participants were exhorted to provide co-operation and assistance to police so that social evils like drugs smuggling, illicit liquor, bovine smuggling and others social crime is eradicated from the society. The participants were also urged upon to keep eye and watch on their wards and make them understand about good and bad habits, so that they may not fell prey of drugs or other criminal related activities which would lead to spoil their career. They were also informed to provide inputs/information to Police regarding drug smuggling or any other crime related activities so that culprits could be booked.
