SSCK participates in workshop on Sharda script

JAMMU, Nov 26: Save Sharda Committee Kashmir (SSCK) today participated in the workshop on importance & preservation of Sharda script in Faridabad, Haryana.
The workshop was organized by Sharda Core committee, a group of young Sharda enthusiasts who are working day & night on spreading Sharda lipi, organizing teaching classes & imparting training in Sharda script. The programme was hosted by KSS Faridabad at Sharika Bhawan , a nodal centre for Kashmiri Pandits in Haryana.
A large number of Sharda followers and learners attended the workshop that was addressed by noted historian Dr. S S Toshkhani, who threw light on the history of Sharda in Kashmir from early times. Besides, Director of MIEF, Dr. Uday Kakroo also highlighted the efforts of introduction of Sharda certificate courses in various universities in India.
Other speakers included Jyotshi Omkar Nath Shastri from Jammu, Dr. KirtiKant Sharma of IGNCA, Col. (retd) Tej Tiku of AIKS, Lalit Ambardar, TV debator, and Hira Lal Wangnoo. On the occasion, children displayed their learning skills in writing & reading Sharda script. Sharda Core Committee has been working on development of android application that can translate Devnagiri into Sharda and has been conducting classes, seminars and training sessions throughout the country on Sharda lipi.
Save Sharda Committee Kashmir (Regd.) also participated with its followers and led by its Head and founder, Ravinder Pandita, who spoke about the research & exploration of Sharda civilization by researchers across LoC and this side too.
