SRS demands CBI inquiry into Jammu Tulip Garden project

JAMMU, Mar 16: State president, Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Rajiv Mahajan, today reiterated his demand for a CBI inquiry into the stalled prestigious Jammu Tulip Garden project.
In a statement issued today, Mahajan said that no one from PDP and BJP issued any statement on the stalled project worth Rs 8.5 crore, which was sanctioned on 563 Kanals of land at Bhour Camp in Jammu and was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on March 31, 2008, meant for growth of Jammu tourism.
He said despite raising the issue of Jammu Tulip Garden on various occasions by Shri Ram Sena, no one from the Government side especially Jammu based BJP MLA and ex-Ministers issued any statement about the fate of the Tulip Garden, one of the prestigious tourism projects in Jammu.
Mahajan demanded that a CBI inquiry be ordered in the expenditure of Rs 8.5 crore sanctioned amount for the project and the status of the garden be made public.
He appealed Governor NN Vohra to restart work on all stalled tourism projects in Jammu particularly Tulip Garden project in Chatha.
