SRS’ concern over Jammu Tulip Garden project

JAMMU, May 20: Reiterating his demand for CBI inquiry in the Jammu Tulip Garden project, State president, Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Rajiv Mahajan, expressed concern over the stalling of prestigious Tulip Garden project worth Rs 8.5 crore on 563 kanals of land at Bhour Camp in Jammu, which was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on March 31, 2008 , meant for growth of Jammu tourism.
He said despite raising the issue on various occasions by Sri Ram Sena no one from the Government issued any statement about the fate of the prestigious tourism project which was one among other prestigious Jammu tourism projects like artificial lake on Tawi river, Panjtirthi- Mahamaya Gandola project, Mansar lake, Surinsar lake and Purmandal.
Mahajan demanded CBI inquiry in the expenditure of Rs 8.5 crore-sanctioned amount for the project. He also asked Speaker Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar constituency, Kavinder Gupta under whose jurisdiction the Tulip garden falls, to take the matter seriously and sort out misappropriation caused in the funds meant for Tulip garden project and help in booking the culprits.
