JAMMU, May 20: A protest rally was held by the office bearers and members of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) under the leadership of Shadi Lal Pandita, president of JTC and SKF at Jagti township, today.
During the rally the participant raised slogans demanding three composite townships near Srinagar City for permanent rehabilitation of the KP migrants Community in these townships with grant of political reservation in Parliament and in State Legislature. The protestors also demanded grant of minority status to the community.
Pandita while addressing the protestors said that each and every migrant family has been facing a loss of Rs. 2 lacs yearly due to damages to their properties in Kashmir valley and demanded proportionate compensation for the last 25 years in favour of the Kashmiri Migrant Pandit families.
In case Government fails to meet the demands the community will accelerate the agitation.
