JAMMU, Feb 10: Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Welfare Committee along with Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust is organizing Shiv Barat (Shobha Yatra) on February 23 on the eve of Maha Shivratri festival, which falls on February 24.
While talking to media persons, here today, Mahant of Ranbireshwar Temple, Shri Rishi Ban Ji said that on February 23, a grand Shobha Yatra of Lord Shiva (Shiv Barat) will be jointly organized by Jammu and Kashmir Dharamath Trust and Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Welfare Committee.
He said that this Shobha Yatra will start from Shri Ranbireshwar Ji Temple sharply at 3.30 PM on February 23. This Shobha Yatra (Shiv Barat) will pass through all main bazars of the Old City viz. City Chowk, Indira Chowk, Hari Market, Raghunath Bazar Chowk, Residency Road, Rajinder Bazar, Kanak Mandi, Old Hospital Road, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazar, Mubarak Mandi, Upper Bazar, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazar, Parade Chowk and will finally culminate at Shri Ranbireshwar Temple.
He said that on February 24 a free Medical Camp with the active co-operation of Indian System of Medicines (Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital Indira Chowk) will also be organized at temple premises in which renowned doctors will examine the patients and give them free medicines. Some religious, cultural programmes will also be organized by the renowned artists on the occasion of Maha Shivratri Festival, he added.
The Mahant appealed all religious minded people and trade organizations to take part in these programmes and seek blessings of Lord Shiva. He also appealed trader organizations of Old Jammu city to decorate their markets with gates, buntings, lights to welcome Shiv Barat.
Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust, Shashi Khajuria also spoke on the occasion and appealed all religious minded people to be part of these programmes.
Those who were present on the occasion, included Onkar Sharma, Rajkumar Gupta, Amit Gupta, Rajinder Vijay Magotra , Advocate Jyoti Sarup Misra and Mandeep Sharma, Mohan Shrama, Deepak Sharma, Dr Sunny Gupta , Rekha Sharma , Dolly Abrol and Surinder Bhagat.
