NEW DELHI, Aug 21: Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 19.70 to Rs 986.70 per kg in futures trade today as traders engaged in creating positions, driven by strong demand at spot market from consuming industries.
Besides, tight stocks position in the physical market due to restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh influenced prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September was up by Rs 19.70, or 2.03 per cent, to Rs 986.70 per kg, with a trading volume of 1,016 lots.
Also, mentha for delivery in August was higher by Rs 19.60, or 2.05 per cent, to Rs 973.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,685 lots.
Marketmen said besides restricted arrivals, a firming trend at the spot market on strong domestic and export demand, mainly influenced mentha oil prices in futures trade here. (PTI)
