Born on August 15, 1989 in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, Ishwar Chand Pandey is an Indian first-class cricketer who plays for Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket.
He is a right-arm medium-fast bowler who was the leading wicket-taker of the 2012-13 Ranji Trophy. He is a right-arm medium fast bowler and a right-handed lower-order batsman. He plays for Madhya Pradesh in Domestic Circuit and represented Pune Warriors in IPL Season-6.
Pandey has played 19 First-Class matches and has taken 86 wickets with an average of 24.76 by bowling 4367 balls. Ishwar has played 14 List-A matches and has taken 17 wickets in 736 balls, with an average of 31.64, while in 4 T20 matches, he has taken 4 wickets, with 27.50 as his average.
Batting lower down in order, Pandey has scored 208 runs in 19 First-Class matches.
He has the distinction of having six 5-wicket hauls in an innings and one 10-wicket haul in a match. His best bowling figures in First-Class matches has been 6/31, in List-A matches 4/44 and in T20 matches, it has been 2/26.
Recently, Ishwar Pandey toured South Africa with India-A team and was a stand-out performer there. He took good number of wickets in all the matches, he played and received praise from the team coach, Lal Chand Rajput, who pinned him as the future hope of Indian fast bowling. His splendid show with the ball against South Africa-A team, may force the National selectors to pick him for India’s tour to South Africa in December, 2013.
