DODA, Nov 9: A Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) Department was killed while two brothers got seriously injured, when a load carrier they were traveling in skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge at Bhabore area on Gath-Doda road this morning.
The ill fated vehicle was on its way to Doda from Gath, when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve and the vehicle landed into 150 feet deep gorge at Bhabore area, resulting into serious injuries to three persons including two brothers.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to District Hospital Doda, where doctors declared one of the injured as brought dead. Two injured persons identified as Mohsin Ali and Liyakat Ali, both sons of Ghulam Ali, residents of Roti Padyerna, District Doda.
After completing legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased identified as Irfan Ahmed (SPO), son of Nazir Sheikh, a resident of Bhabore has been handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Doda Police Station and investigation started.
