JAMMU, Feb 23: A Village Defence Committee (VDC) member, SPO with belt number 632 committed suicide by shooting himself with his 303 weapon at his residence in village Gajwal Talool in tehsil and district Samba.
He was identified as Dalbir Singh alias Billu, 42, son of Balwan Singh. His body was shifted to District Hospital Samba by police where from after postmortem it will be handed over to family members for last rites tomorrow.
The Samba Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law in this regard. SHO Samba, Chanchal Singh said that the villagers informed that the VDC Member was having some mental strain and he was not feeling well from last some days. He was also under medication for last some time.
